How I fixed the SD card issue on the Leapster 2.

I tested this on Windows XP and Windows Vista. If you do not have a My Computer Icon you can get to Computer Management by clicking Start or the Windows Logo in Vista then Right Click My Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Windows Vista) and selct Manage. You can also get to Computer Management by opening Administrative Tools in the Control Panel of both XP and Vista.

I tested this with a 512 MB and 256 MB SD Card. I have also tested with 2GB cards as well.

What I am assuming:

That you read the Leap Frog FAQ on how they suggest to fix it meaning you have the applications downloaded in Leapster Connect and they just won't sync.

What I found:

Leapster does not format the card correctly to the folder in which it stores its applications. In Disk Management 2 removable disks will appear, the first is 1MB and the other the size of your SD card (roughly the same size) Reformatting the second drive with a FAT32 file system and Quick Format then go back to the Leapster Connect application and uncheck an application (any one is fine) what should happen is a sync. This sync may take a minute or so but once complete the SD card will be ready. Then just select the Game again and it will sync up. I tested this multiple times on Windows XP and Vista to find a pattern.

Again if you have questions or comments please feel free to email me.
